Tomorrow I plan to install engine guard on my Heritage. There are 1 plugs on the bottom of the frame that I have to remove it to install lower bolts. How do I remove these plugs without causing any damage. I believe this hole is treaded there.
If you have any other tips how to do this install without any risk of scratches/damage that will also help. So far I wrapped engine guard in bubble wrap and I plan to cover my fender with thick towel to protect it.
Yes it is plastic plug. I am afraid to pry it it is there tight I thought to punch it in the hole gently so hopefully this will go through on other side.
Yes. These were a bitch to get out. I put a small Philips screwdriver centered as much as possible and hit it lightly w a hammer. When I saw the other flat end extend a bit I used a large wire cutter to grab it pulling and twisting at the same time. There are threads there so you do need to be careful.
I just did this. I pride it out a little with screw driver, And then used side cutters to pry it out, They are a Bitch..
When your ready to mount them, Get some one to help....
