Hi all,
Am I the only one finding these slip ons a bitch to get over the head pipe, (still on lower one), - going to give it a break after 30 mins of trying but seems I am going to need to wet and dry the surfaces to take the tolerance down a bit......
Its on a 2020 fatboy btw
Cheers
So you installed a muffler gasket on your Vance & Hines??? I was told they do not use the gasket.
Just for clarity I didnt - not needed - actually I would say one might not even go on with a gasket in there. I was a bit confused at first though so I checked the diameter of both the slip on and header and found they were the same which seems to confirm a gasket wasn' needed. I run her up this morning and no leaks. - cool.
Same here, I had to grind down where the sleeve was welded to the shell, (on the inside) there was a ridge in it.
In a sense Im glad I'm not alone - as I said I thought it weird how the top one just slid over, I guess that the lower header may be just a few thou oversized.
Cheers
