I can understand steering dampers for race bikes screaming on a track at 140mph, but is there really need for a street bike? I've never feel any steering instability that made me thing "I need to bolt more **** on my bike"
What does it buy you?
hello I am currently researching this for my lowrider st. I run 85 + mph through the turns and I get a wobble when transitioning from lower asphalt to higher and vice versa looking for something less expensive than the GPR
[QUOTE=Waydel;21820085]hello I am currently researching this for my lowrider st. I run 85 + mph through the turns and I get a wobble when transitioning from lower asphalt to higher and vice versa looking for something less expensive than the GPR.
I did have the same issue with my 23 Low Rider St ,did purchase this which fits perfectly and corrected the problem. Drag Specialties Front Steering Damper Kit 2020-2023 Harley Softail Low Rider .
You can just see it in this picture, but my bike had a damper on it for Bonneville. The fork covers below the triple clamp were removed and a mount was added to the fork leg, then another bracket to hold the Ohlins damper was put on the frame tube. It's a 7" stroke damper. For the street, I have removed the damper and reinstalled the fork covers. No stability issues so far (only been 155 on asphalt with it so far).
