So I just bought this bike 5 days ago and I am loving it, however, this morning it will not start! Bike comes on, all normal cycling up sounds, but when I try to crank it the mechanical whirring starts again (like when cycling up) but not an ounce of crank. I have tried leaving on Tender for an hour, starting in N or in gear, clutch is always in, tried with stand up/downsame result. Any thoughts?
Its on the Tender now and I need to grab a voltage meter, dont have one. A few have told me maybe key fob battery??
The bike wouldn't power up if the fob battery was dead. It sounds like the bike's battery is not putting out enough voltage to start the bike. You can pull it and have it tested at most auto parts stores. Does the tender have a light showing its status?
You can get a volt meter today, you need one anyway.
My battery just sitting around for a couple of days (no tender) will still show 13.2 volts and starts the bike right up.
I don't trust auto parts store load tests, I worked at Advanced Auto Parts for a short time. If your bike is a couple of years old and battery is not holding good voltage it's probably time for a new battery. I buy aftermarket batteries with at least 400cca rating.
**Update...replaced the battery, with patient and welcomed help from wifey 🤘🏻, (lost the negative mounting bolt inside bike and she McGuyvered it out with metal rods!🤪🤯 and bike is all good. Started right up!! 🕺🏼😃**
