What does rolling the throttle forward do?
I lean over quite a bit but new risers are on order to fix the issue.
Also without the engine running it is used to enable/disable ETMS (ETMS is the system that shuts off the rear cylinder at idle when the engine gets too hot - it's to stop it cooking your legs more than anything)

What I've encountered, however, is that if you are riding and using cruise control, and you roll forward to dis-engage the cruise control, if I hold the forward roll too long, it also switches off the EITMS. I never notice it at the time, but later discover the EITMS is off. The engine cannot be running while turning EITMS back on; you have to turn off the engine, then turn on the engine switch only, and roll forward and hold the throttle for 3 seconds, watching for the color of the lamp, to re-engage it.

"motorcycle may be running or not running"
It says nothing about cruise control has to be installed to perform this function at home.
I think maybe some are not doing the 3 sec. wait.
