Default Battery Tender For The M8 Softail

Never had use for a battery tender over the years but since the dongle is there gonna go that way with this '19 FLFBS.

I've read several posts over the years which one is best factoring in cost and reliability but thats been quite a few years.

Which one has most of you decided on. One concern is the dongle, I'd like to keep that and not replace it to match up with the tender.

Battery tender Jr. 750 milliamp works fine.

Cheap and dependable.

I`m not one of those who is obsessed with hooking up a tender as soon as the bike stops rolling...

I only connect it if the bike has been sitting for quite a while (over a month), the only time that happens in my garage is if the bike is on the lift for an extended amount of time.

That's the one I remember, thanks, Dan.

I use the Harley-Davidson battery tender. The dealer gave me one when I bought the bike.

I have a battery tender plus, little metal box one. Think the only difference between a plus and a regular one is that the plus can charge a completely dead battery whereas a regular one is only for maintenance charge.

My sportster actually has a twin power lithium battery and a bike master lithium charger. Lithium batteries don’t like desulfation pulses that some of the tenders do, will eventually replace my Breakouts battery with a lithium when it eventually dies

I use my yuasa charger & maintainer which I bought for my dyna. It is a two prong charger. The new softail is set up for a three prongs. I have read it will not charge as fast but is o.k to charge this way. Seems to charge right up.

Take a look at the Optimate Tecmate brand, different price ranges and amps, I've got 10pcs of them in use as we speak.
