I`m not one of those who is obsessed with hooking up a tender as soon as the bike stops rolling...
I only connect it if the bike has been sitting for quite a while (over a month), the only time that happens in my garage is if the bike is on the lift for an extended amount of time.

I have a battery tender plus, little metal box one. Think the only difference between a plus and a regular one is that the plus can charge a completely dead battery whereas a regular one is only for maintenance charge.
My sportster actually has a twin power lithium battery and a bike master lithium charger. Lithium batteries dont like desulfation pulses that some of the tenders do, will eventually replace my Breakouts battery with a lithium when it eventually dies
I use my yuasa charger & maintainer which I bought for my dyna. It is a two prong charger. The new softail is set up for a three prongs. I have read it will not charge as fast but is o.k to charge this way. Seems to charge right up.
