your first day on the forum and your first post is a rant against harley davidson what do you expect. Should have introduced yourself in the welcome area, https://www.hdforums.com/forum/welcome-area-only-4/ read the rules then posted in the correct area. Victim mentality and thin skin. Please fill out the form below and submit it in the proper sub-forum.
So he sets up an account at a giant Harley forum. Professes to have owned previous dressers. Then tells us how mad he is about the mistake that he made. And ends with,
I find this outrageous and I will be telling everyone I know think twice about getting a new Harley.
I’ve modded several gun forums, and been invited to mod a large car forum (and declined), and spent way too much time at all of them.
If he had said something like that at any of them he would have gotten exactly the same response.
Snowflakes and butt hurt much. This is definitely one of those times ignorance is NOT bliss. I have a full 2-1 system on my bike, zero issues. SEPST though to keep things happy.
You can thank the EPA. And non EPA compliant parts Harley is forced to violate the warranty.
FWIW, a stage 1 has very little performance impact on an M8, as they already breathe well. In fact some exhaust can degrade low end torque. I’m hsppybwithntbe sound of the SE Street Canons. And if you/don’t change the AC you don’t need a tuner.
so as I'm getting older I've done the last 20 yrs on ultras but I'm done touring. So I trade my 13 ultra on a new 2020 street bob. We are waiting for front controls and I get my stimulus check, sweet!! Imma gonna splurge so I research exhaust and decide on the Bassani 2 into 1 in black with a fuel pac 3 and air leaner, I take all the parts as I figure while we're waiting for the forward controls I'll have them put the new stuff on. I go to do some paperwork and they hand me a waiver saying my warranty is void if I put aftermarket parts on my bike!!!! WTF!!!! So now I have $1000 worth of parts I can't use. I find this outrageous and I will be telling everyone I know think twice about getting a new Harley.
Can you email me a copy of the waiver they wanted you to sign? Yes H-D's Factory Warranty and their Extended Service Plan has an exclusion for motorcycles that have been modified with any aftermarket and/or non-street legal alterations to the powertrain, suspension, and/or non-EPA compliant exhaust system if the claim was caused or contributed to by the modification of the non-compliant system. (Exclusion #13 on H-Ds ESP)
👉 We have (2) Options for bikes that have flagged VINs
1. Autrella's Extended Service Plan: All components that were ORIGINALLY covered under the factory warranty and listed on the contract are covered. Your non-compliant component won't cause an immediate decline. If the claim is unrelated to the upgraded component, a covered repair will still be approved. This plan also extends coverage to H-D and SE Components, that are properly installed, after the 60-Day window.
2. Eagle Guardian's Extended Service Plan: All components essential to the operation of the motorcycle are covered; except those specifically excluded. So if your bike has cams, a tuner, big bore kit, heated grips added, ECT--this is the plan for you. The plan's coverage is extended to these components. This is the only plan on the market that does this.

My local H-D dealer has said the dealer is less concerned about the parts and more concerned about fitment and installation. That is, the owner and service manager have both told me that if I buy the parts through them, even a FP3, and have them installed there, my warranty would not be voided by that dealer. AND my service dept has a big sign that says "We will not install parts purchased elsewhere!"
