My local H-D dealer has said the dealer is less concerned about the parts and more concerned about fitment and installation. That is, the owner and service manager have both told me that if I buy the parts through them, even a FP3, and have them installed there, my warranty would not be voided by that dealer. AND my service dept has a big sign that says "We will not install parts purchased elsewhere!"
Just be careful with this. I've seen Service Writers/Managers make statements that aren't accurate. Remember H-D dictates what their Factory Warranty will and will not cover. I've also seen the "mindset of dealership" change over time or if the ownership changes.
👉 That is why we created the Autrella Extended Service Plan. During the original factory warranty period, if H-D declines a covered repair due to a "Flagged VIN" we can make a claim with the ESP. After the 2-Year period, the ESP becomes primary. This allows riders to customize the motorcycle how THEY choose vs trying to follow H-D's guidelines.
👉 The Eagle Guardian Plan will extend coverage to the aftermarket / upgraded components. So if you want coverage for the Cams, Tuners, Big Bore Kits, ect--this is the plan for you.

That is simply not true, installing an aftermarket tuner on a bike will void the factory powertrain warranty, no matter who installs it.
The dealer has no control over this. This has been discussed ad nauseum on this and every other harley forum for years.

To the OP, stop complaining and make your choice. I put the Cobra Neighbor Haters, SE Ventilator and FP3 tuner on my new bike after about three months. The engine seemed fine so I rolled the dice and assumed I'd have no engine warranty issues on the new bike for the first two years. And all was fine. So either leave it stock, go with all SE parts, or roll the dice. Your choice. Kicking and screaming like a kid who has his toys taken away accomplishes nothing. It is what it is.
I was in the same boat as OP. I had a 2008 Sportster for about 8 yrs, it got stolen, after a couple yrs of playing around on sport bikes I got another Harley, this time a Streetbob. Much to my surprise, went to buy exhaust and found even SLIPONS void warranty! I didn't read fine print because I'd been playing around on older school bikes, forgot Harleys were for lawyers who read fine print and care more about warranties and keeping their bike in prime trade-in condition then they do RIDING the damn thing. I'm more of a "**** your fine print, I'll figure out a way around it" kinda guy. So I take my bike to a local shop that has that same kind of mindset, and IF I need to take it to Harley for warranty work, I just take my slippons off and put the stock ones back on. I'll wait until warranty is up before I do a cam, full exhaust, or air intake/fuel map though, I am kinda concerned about the M8 being so new, so I'll let it run its warranty up before I go any further with performance/sound mods.
My ‘20 883 headlight burned out so I contacted my dealer for a replacement under warranty since I hadn’t had the bike more than two weeks. The sign in the service department said bulbs aren’t covered under warranty. I immediately cried my way to Auto Zone, bough a new bulb and installed it myself.😂
I was told that the only tuner that wouldn’t void the warranty is the Harley tuner but who knows for sure anymore.
