I got four HD dealers within a 100 mile radius of me, none closer than 80 miles. I called all four about this fogging issue. Three of them told me I would have to bring the bike in to prove I had fogging. I guess they don't trust me. If they confirmed it, they said they would honor the warranty.
The ONLY one who said they would not honor it was Tifton Harley, in Tifton Georgia. They passed the buck and blamed HD corporate. That surprised me because they were heretofore a pretty good dealer when it came to these kind of issues.
I'm waiting for the first sunny day, which is exceedingly rare here in Florida these days, and heading to one of the dealers who said they'd honor it, probably Tallahassee.
Im surprised you got that kind of response. My dealer, as I stated in my original post, ordered my replacement without question. All I had to do was show up for my appointment. FYI, still no fogging.

Maybe I'll drive out to Texas. These bums here in Florida don't seem to get the drift.
It's like these HARLEY DAVIDSON dealers never heard of the SPEEDOMETER FOGGING issue. You know, the problem EVERYONE is having with the new HARLEY DAVIDSONS.
They act like you're from Mars asking them to fix a spaceship. "Well what are WE supposed to do about it?"
Waste of time as new one will fog also unfortunately
I've had the new replacement (70900644B) for about 5-6 weeks. It's been pretty hot and humid here for the last couple of weeks. No fogging. Had fogging from day 1 on the original one. Before the new one came out, the dealer told me Harley would replace it one time. Didn't make any sense to replace it with the same one that fogged. So far I'm glad I waited.
I bought my '19 Heritage at Goes in Angleton TX. Actually I bought two there and lost one in a garage fire. Both bikes fogged heavily above the LCD data window from day one. They closed their doors and now my closest dealer is Republic HD in Sugar Land. I heard there were a couple of upgraded model numbers for the speedo and the parts guy confirmed this. I went to the service manager and he won't submit a warranty claim for me. He says they keep writing them up and the Mo Co keeps denying them, so it's a waste of time.
I'm going to burn my warranty in another month or so with some non-HD motor parts. Based on Galv TexGuy's experience I'm going to get over to San Jacinto HD in the next several days and see if they'll help me get a new speedo. Unless we get some reports of continued fogging with the new part?

All I got this past Friday was the lower portion fogging, when I get home I'll put up a photo or two of it. I wish I was able to get a picture back when the entire Speedometer fogged up.
The cluster on the new 2021 Sportster S looks really good, especially the fact that it should actually be visible even in bright light. Assuming they fixed the condensation issue on that, it would be awesome to be able to retrofit that onto the fatbob! (yes, likely not possible - tank mount vs handlebar mount, and no support for ride modes).
