Having owned several vintage Harleys, I'm finally considering a new one. I'm not interested in making if faster, and I'm not trying to make it obnoxiously loud - and I definitely don't want have to get into flashing it or messing with the warranty - the problem I'm having is I'm not crazy about most of the slip on options since I'm trying to go for certain retro look. I recently came across these:
Looks like I'd need the mufflers, the bracket, and the 20 degree turn-ups. I would likely get the heat shields coated in flat black to match the mufflers.
Unfortunately these are not in the USA, and they're very expensive - probably more than most full exhaust options. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with this company? I'm I safe to assume I can put these on myself and not have to worry about a flash?
You will lose your warranty going that way, and bikes break down always in the most convenient places. JK
These things are pretty reliable if you want to go that way bad enough do it it looks wicked , doubt if you'd have to flash it if you just go the tails, can you flash 21's yet ?.
I ended up speaking to a Harley dealership here in the states that is listed as a Thunderbike retailer. They sold these mufflers before - hard to get, hard company to communicate with, but good product. However he told me this would need a flash since the catalytic converters air in the mufflers of the softail slim, so any muffler change would require a retune. That’s really unfortunate!
I’m trying to figure out the Screaming Eagle tune situation - I’m willing to do whatever it takes to run these new mufflers on the new bike, and not void the warranty. Assuming I’ll need a tune if I remove the stock mufflers with cats. (I’m not worried about gaining every extra hp, just want the bike to run efficiently / properly), will the Screaming Eagle tune work with any type/brand muffler out there, and is this the best/correct way to run these mufflers?
"This part will not fit on your bike, because the model year 2021 got 4 Lambda probes. This exhaust only fits until 2020."
Is anyone else with 2021 bikes having issues with "4 Lambda probes"? Seems like this will limit the exhaust options.
Spumoni, if that quote came from the exhaust maker, do they know you are in the U.S.? I ask because for the '21 model year the European-spec (and other specs outside North America) models got a 2nd pair of oxygen sensors and the added pair of sensors is after the catalytic converters. If whoever said they will not fit your bike considered it doesn't have the new-for-21 extra pair of sensors that some markets got, they might not have said that. I suspect they'd work fine on US-spec '21s.
Unfortunately these are not in the USA, and they're very expensive - probably more than most full exhaust options. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with this company?
