I'm now confirmed in on the prototype project w/Clearview and have a shield on the way.
I'll be testing 3 different variations and helping finalize the product before official release.
be on the look out for my review thread and pics to follow, once farther along.
from CV:
"There will be 4 height options based on Harleys OEM 6 screen and will come standard 3 wider than the stock screen 1.5 on each side. The material will be thicker than the stock screen at .177.
-6.5
-8
-9.5
-11
Our prototype screens will also come stander with our recurve option and the option to delete the vent hole.
The screen will be available in 3 tint options plus our standard clear."
Excellent. I can't wait to see them....and your reviews about how well they work. I was about to buy the HD 10" screen, but will hold off now.
me neither...I'll have a 9.5" in my hand friday before a few night overnighter ride this weekend.
what I'm really excited about, is they took my idea/feedback/advice and brought the windshield out wider than the stock. (see attached of what I sent them)
if you look at the fairing's body lines you'll see this area where the stock shield ends abruptly. it's really unsightly in the 10" HD screen, as it makes the entire thing look way too narrow.
plus in addition to aesthetics, CV is reporting some great performance benefits too. can't wait to get it on.
Oh man I can't wait to see the 9.5. HD's 10" is worse than the stock screen and Klockwerks is neato with the flare but doesn't really do anything but look better than stock from what I've heard. I'm 6'1"...chomping at the bit to get a better screen.
long weekend...I'll report back with more details, but in short this 9.5" still needs some tweaks. (ignore fitment...this was rushed out for the weekend to me for some real touring miles)
they will be increasing flare but at-is its the same or a tad better than my lip on the stock screen, which is neat.
some of their insight:
"Yeah I think your right more recurve will help kick the air up a little higher. The ideal approach angle we try to hit with the recurve is 60° I believe that 9.5 was sitting around 50°. I will play around with some more designs and ideas. We will get this screen dialed so your sitting in a nice quite pocket of air."
I still think the 11 is gunna be a must for being a 6' rider who wants FULL helmet coverage but then again this the beauty (and fun) of prototyping!

Good news thanks for the update. Side note - is that an LP9 light with amber rock cover? How do you like it so far? Does the amber look strange at night?
it's not...it's a one-off custom mounted San Jose Customs "beam" light...
it's not made for this bike by any means. pretty big project a welder buddy and I came up with one day.
