Red goes to BCM should just be able to splice into the red wire that is already there that goes from the BCM to the Voltage Regulator. Make it easy on yourself and splice down where the regulator wires are near the voltage regulator, leaving enough slack to heat shrink and zip tie with some anti chafe tubing if there is not some there from the OEM installation.
hmm... this is what i got.. i pulled it from the harley website but its a 2021 wiring diagram but its a moot point anyway if im gonna splice at the voltage regulator side
but part of me what's the do the right way and open up the wiring harness and replace the entire wire from the voltage regulator the ecu/ehcu/bcm or where ever it leads to
Solder and sealing heat shrink. Do it once. Do it right.
People think soldering is the best. But there is a lot of discussion out there about it cracking. You crimp and tug on a conncection, it is good. Heat shrink it too
Everything on your bike is crimped at the factory.
I've replaced this connector before. I am pretty sure the wires are colored. Don't worry about wiring diagram for two colored wires. You will see when you cut, if not worry about it. Strip the out cable back and you will see. If they are colored and match the new wires good to go. If not one is postive and ones is negative going back to battery.

Oh my god I'm so ****ing sorry. I didn't know that the internet said soldering was bad. Carry on.

Other than circuit boards and electronics, what is soldered? Everything on your bike is crimped. Nuke plants are crimped. The concern is solder can crack from vibration.
Do your own research, and just think about it. Everything on your bike is crimped. Try pulling a part a crimp.

I'll do me, and you do you. And I'll continue laughing at just about everything you post.

I've replaced this before on my bike. Volt reg was off so many times connector cracked. On my year, Harley sold 12-18" pig tail. It goes into the main harness on my year, so no choice but to splice.

World uses crimped connections.
......... That`s only because crimps are CHEAPER and EASIER, plus labor costs are reduced. This is true for almost every electrical item nowadays. However, solder is BETTER. I`ve worked with electrical items in the service business for over 50 years and where a critical connection had to be made, soldering it was always chosen. As far as vibration is concerned, unless there is some constant pull tension on a soldered connection, that would be moot. Of course, since you think you know it all, GFY!
GFY? Wow try to discuss something. I said it is discussed topic trying not to sound like a know it all. Trying to be nice.
Very little in the world is soldered other than electronics.
Nuke plants control wiring is crimped. High voltage wires crimp. Some grounds cad welded, but from there they go to crimps. Done with battery operated tools
Automotive is crimped at the factory. When is last time you had a connection fail in an auto or bike? If they were concerned they would not be crimping
Google it,it is a debated topic. What are you afraid of?
Personally I think guys who crimp are like guys who change their oil every 2000 miles it makes them feel good. Makes them feel superior
