if you're gonna upgrade the seat and you have >30" or so inseam, the HD Hammock seat lifts about an inch and makes the kickstand much easier to kick down, in addition to having a good quality riding seat.
Am I missing something? What does the seat height or comfort have to do with the kickstand length or having to lean the bike to the right when deploying the stand? The stand is going to hit the ground before it is all the way forward regardless of how high the seat sits you.

Only a little, in that while it does show the part numbers, there's no description of how those part numbers differ. Which ones are shorter, which are longer?

From experience I can tell you that #30 on that list, the 50000185 leg from the Deluxe, original Low Rider, Sport Glide and Softail Slim, is the shortest stand leg Harley offers, and it works brilliantly on my Fat Bob. Since the Fat Bob and Heritage have the same ground clearance, I would expect (but obviously cannot guarantee) that the Sport Glide leg would be an excellent happy upgrade for anyone with a Heritage who's unhappy about the stock sidestand.

I ride a 2020 Low Rider S 114, while it as the shorter leg and as I mount a Héritage shock which is the highest in the range, now my bike is leaning to much on the jiffy stand, but it's not a big deal, I put a piece of wood under when I am parking in my garage and take care when I am parking outside...

Still doesn't fix my major gripe about the side stand. It's tucked too far under the bike. The stand on my previous bike stuck out quite far to the side when deployed. This new stand is so close to the center line of the bike that I always feel like the bike will roll right over it and fall. This is especially true if the ground slopes even slightly to the left. A shorter stand will only make this worse. It's also completely hidden by the footboard, so it's impossible to see if its fully deployed and locked.

Yeah, I tend to turn around and park uphill or even walk a block if I have to. I just don't trust it. I have a 19.

My wife has a 21 and parked downhill on a stop a few weeks ago. I just couldn't watch. I took the extra time to park on the other side of the street going uphill as well as few of the other riders in our group.

Be careful also when pulling up the kickstand to get ready to go. For other reasons that I just can't explain, I've almost dropped it then also. Or at least it felt that way. Yes, I grab the front brake, hold the bars very tight, turn the wheel etc. etc. and give it all I got for that moment until it's upright. I can't explain any of it, but on a 2018+ Heritage, using the kickstand is not something to take lightly. Especially parking on gravel.

Yup. Harley-Davidson had the best side stand in the business and somehow they figured they could “improve” it. I’d laugh but….

The trouble with this World is all the R&D guys. We all need to send them all on a long vacation. They deserve it. You can't work with a gun to your head and continue to be productive.

Sarcasm? Of course. But yeah, I can hear it now. "Hey Ralph, this product is so good, I don't see how we can improve upon it" Ralph: "Are you fu**ing kidding me? Right or wrong, we need to make some change or Corporate will crucify us!"
