Default More Heritage Kickstand Info

I hope this is the end for me.

I can't take credit for it and I don't remember who first brought this up, but I just installed it and my wife is very happy with the end result. For now

Kickstand leg for a Low Rider, HD part number 50000185

I didn't take any measurements, but the difference isn't significant. However, it is different enough that with the bike upright the foot of the kickstand no longer drags on the ground, eliminating the need to lay the bike way over to the right to fully deploy the kickstand. The bike leans over to the left a little more, but again not significant.

In the photo below I tried to lay one on top of the other in perfect alignment to show the difference. As you can see there isn't much, but enough.

If you decide to do this, here's a tech tip for you. Put the kickstand down, then pull it out into the locked position. Jam a bunch of coins into the spring. This makes the spring removal/install much easier when the leg is in the parked position. Crappy picture, but you get the idea, and use more than shown here. Like 12 if you can.

Could you post a picture of the bike on the new stand so I can see how much lean there is? I appreciate it.

That is the OEM stand that is on my '21 Sport Glide. It seems to work just fine. What I don't comprehend is, that stand retails for $80.18, but the stock stand on the Heritage Classic is $216.09 retail. I don't see where there is enough difference to justify the almost $136 in price.

The part number I cited is for the leg only, not the complete assembly.

Hard to say exactly, but it looks like the straight shaft on the Low Rider stand is about an 1” shorter?

What $tonecold is saying is the leg alone for the Heritage is $216.09. The leg alone for the Sport Glide is $80.18. When you purchase both for their respective prices, this is all you get.

Oh, OK I got it now. Perhaps the Heritage leg has a whining tax added to it since we all whine about it. Well, I do anyway. But only because it sucks so bad.
