This may have been addressed already, I am new and don't know how to look things up yet.
I have a 2022 Street Bob 114. Oil is coming out of the air filter down onto my engine. Harley says I am not reving the bike up enough before I shift. I am looking for anyone who might have already had this problem.
Engine oil might be overfilled. Fill only to 1/2 between full & add marks, wuth engine cold, on side stand,
Ive found it more accurate to check oil level hot as recommended in the owners manual. I run exactly 4.5 quarts in the system which brings the oil level to the mid point of the dipstick hot and barely touches the stick cold. Filling to the mid point cold can be too full hot.
Agree with above. The techs who do oil changes at the dealerships are the lowest skilled/trained mechanics in the service department. They must have put in too much oil. I have a 22 Streetbob and no oil drips out.
Like others said before, jusrt a oil overfill and it comes thrue the breathers in the airfilter, just install a external breather system and you are done, no more crap in the filter and engine in the future.

You say Harley said, 'That not reving it up enough'. Where is that at in your owners manual. Now if you aren't going somewhat what manual says, it's not good for drive train and motor.
But banging the rev limiter will affect it a lot more. Low mileage also affects it slightly.
It won't hurt anything. They all do it a little. They blow out vent from pistons coming down since they both do it at the same time and a little blowby on power stroke on one cylinder from ring gaps.
That vapor pulls a little oil along. If bike sits a lot, you notice it more. It runs off inside surfaces of hose.
Only the air is drawn into engine from atmospheric pressure rushing in to vill the cylinder on the intake stroke. The oil falls out and drips on filter. Just helps it filter better.
Read post 4 here . Applies to oil and some thought.
Agree here as well. Firm beliver on the external breathers from DK. To me always check the oil hot. It should be halfway between the Add Qt. and Full. If your getting allot of oil on the filter it sounds like too much oil to me as well.
They puke a little sometimes. I did the 5K on my 22 FLT and four quarts filled to halfway on the diptsick hashmarks, and still put some fresh oil in the bottom of the aircleaner after 4K of riding.
