Default Rider backrest for non backrest designed seats?

Just bought a Le Pera Maverick Daddy Long Legs seat for the HC, fully aware there is no provision for a backrest, but accepting other's opinion it won't be needed due to the large step up at the back of the seat where the passenger area starts.

At 6'4" I still need a backrest. Any ideas or suggestions for a backrest that is not incorporated or attached to the seat. I'm thinking along the lines of the quick detach passenger backrest but for the riders position?

thanks
brian

Thanks, but unfortunately that won't work as I have a one piece seat, all leather and don't want to cut into it.

Thinking along the lines of this product from HD for Sportsters, but its fugly.

I first installed a rider backrest on my '92 Heritage (can't remember where I got the side plates) that used a passenger backrest bar and pad had I've had one every "road" bike since.
The back rest that I had had on the Heritage used two bolts on each side to secure it to the side plates, taking a few minutes to R&R but it was a "back saver" and after I sold the entire "rig" (bike and trailer) to my cousin he had it on that bike until he traded it in on a new Tri-Glide in '15.

Now that I'm down to only my Tri-Glide and my Heritage Springer I still have the rider back rest on the Tri-Glide but I do't have one on the Springer but I rarely ride it and when I do it's just for local rides but even them I miss having a back rest.

I did the supercheap thing and I found a backpack that I stuffed full of my sleeping gear for camping.
Works great as a back rest and for camping trips.

Basically you can take any bag, like a backpack and put what you need to carry in it, then stuff the rest of it with like a towel or something soft and compressable where your back is going to touch it and close it, it works as back rest and you can bungie it to a sissy bar on the back seat.
I've been doing that for long range trips so I dont have to install any backrest that will change the aesthetic of my bike.

I looked into this quite a bit years ago and did not find anything that would work, so I bought a new seat that came with a backrest option.

I really hated to muck my bike's looks up with a backrest but that, coupled with 16" bars really straightened out my posture and helped my back pain. So, I live with it. I don't particularly like the looks of the bars OR the backrest.
