Hard Bluetooth Tuner data on how well M8 engine does & does not control temperature & timing
We should all try to stay on the more civil side of that line.

In Texas, the summers were always hot with 100 to 105 F degrees common, so even though I lived right on the edge of "Teax Hill Country", I needed the oil cooler there.
Here in Souther Alberta Canada, we only get into the 30s C = 86F and above for a few days in July or August. Much more of the year riders here need electric heated gear!
The current heat wave being experienced in both Canada and The U.S. is an exception here, versus the rule. During the heat wave, in which our daily highs have touched 38C = 100F, it has still been only 15C = 59F at 6:30 or 7am, and only 24C = 75F by 10am. So I have been riding within that moderate temperature range for up to 3.5 hours!
Some of the prettiest riding areas are also within the nearby Blood Tribe reservation (the largest reservation in Canada at 1343 square kilometers = 519 square miles), WELL away from any urban traffic. The St. Mary reservoir and dam near Spring Coulee border the reservation, and the ride across the dam is spectacular. The dam is "disguised". Traveling eastward, riding at 80 kph, you see the water surface of the reservoir on your right with the most brilliant blue you can imagine. On your left, you look WAY down and see the water flowing out of the dam's spillway. On either side of the road, you have grass, shrubs, and even trees. No dam concrete visible, just a huge visible drop in ground and water elevation from right to left, that you KNOW cannot be natural! Given that, WHY would I want to ride through the city instead?
During our recent annual "hotrod weekend", we had about 500 restored, modded, and souped up hot rods visit the city, and unfortunately the heat wave was in full swing. The hotrodders, who like to "cruise" our main drag, of course have the same sort of cooling issues as we Harley riders do. So, this year, they scheduled their cruise hours for late evening (since it does not get dark here in early July until after 10pm during the longest "daylight" days of Summer). I participated in the cruise too early on the Saturday when the temperature was about 28C = 82.5F, and triggered EITMS within the 7km that I rode in that parade speed (0 to 50 kph) dense traffic. But again, having to ride under those conditions is the rare exception for me.

The Rocky mountains are in the upper background.
For "prairie" riding, this is not what most riders expect to encounter.
Again, why would I want to ride in the city instead?
