Default front wheel alignment with bars ?

Hi All,
Just fitting some 4" risers to my Sportglide and since I have had the bike (6 months) I notice that when the bars are straight in my hands the front wheel is slightly off going straight.
So, whilst I have the bike on the lift I want to align the bars with the front wheel - do I just slightly loosen the triple tree pinch bolts and twist it a little ?
I have a workshop manual but it doesn't mention how to straighten / align the wheels.

Any help appreciated.
Rowle - UK.

That scary, i actually watched that exact video the weekend and did the fork alignment as he said.
nothing moved by loading the forks so i had to physically twist the forks myself. They are more aligned now and the ride better.

thanks for the reply.

Thats funny!

I did the same thing a few months ago and was a little apprehensive at first. Now the bike tracks much better!

Your risers are crooked, not the wheel. Loosen riser bolts, twist handle bar until it aligns with front wheel and tighten riser bolts back down. A friend to help is a good idea to do it once. Good luck.

My old Honda XL500 had such scrawny forks and trees that they'd tweak out of alignment almost daily. The whole setup was so weak all I had to do was stop at a sign pole or such, and bump the tire against it to twist things back into alignment. Became a regular thing to do while out riding.

Good on you for getting yours back into alignment.

If for cosmetic reasons straighten bars. But I kinda doubt it matters. Not like your elbows are locked in place. Not like looking at bars when riding, you should naturally go where you want to.
