How many of you guys with road glides use AVC
I have never tried it, but I get tired of turning down my volume when I slow down
looks like its in Settings and has one through four for intervention whatever the hell that means. For a stupid simple guy can anybody explain that to me how it works? Id like to try it.Regards,Mrbirdog
AVC works great on the SG's. After all the RG's are known as the short bus of bikes... In all seriousness, if you have the latest software it should work. It lowers the volume when you slow down to a stop. Even with the latest software version it is still a bit ineffective, works but not a significant lowering if you were rocking out on the freeway and stop in town.
My experience is that it only works if you have the audio routed to a headset. It causes the volume vary with speed. Soft when you’re going slow and louder when you’re going fast. Unfortunately the setting has absolutely no effect when the audio is routed to the speakers.
This isnt the case anymore. The latest software update was huge for the audio. And the volume variance is way better now. I can absolutely notice it through my speakers. And I can now hear my audio at all highway speeds. Even my wife can hear on the back of the bike now, she used to not be able to. In contrast to prior to the update when I would lose audio around 50-60 mph. And I have not done the stage 2 audio update. So Im glad HD is listening to the customer, audio quality was a huge disappointment on the 24 update SG/RG.
Am I to understand that AVC only works if youre using a helmet?
For those of you on the thread talking about stage two audio I bought my bike as a demo with 200 miles on it and it had the stage two in there already. I absolutely love it. Im a little hard of hearing, but this thing blows me out of the water at any speed on the highway.
No, AVC works well with speakers if you have the latest updates. Settings/Sound/AVC.
Just had an update done at the end of last year at the dealership I had not had the bike more than a month when the radio wouldnt play right they said it needed a update which they did so Im gonna give the AVC a try as soon as it warms up
thanks for the info

The auto volume doesn't work for me.. Never has over the last two IFCU updates. I've set it on all the ranges 1-4. Whenever I slow down or come to a stop after coming off he highway, the music is still blasting at full volume. On the other hand, if I'm using my headset, the sound gets so quiet when I slow down, I can barely hear it. Maybe you'll be lucky and it will work for you.
FWIW, I have the Rockford Fosgate 500W amp and I'm running four speakers.
