@Taxgod4u Can't you use your PV-2B with a different cable and a firmware update??

I'd call DynoJet..

I was messing around, updating both my PV2B tuners (don't ask, long story), anyways, I did a firmware update on one of them, and then it wouldn't connect to my bikes??????

I realized that I used the new '21+ Firmware update and '21+ tune database. I don't have a '21+ Harley, so I updated it again but this time with the newest version of the J1850/canbus firmware & database. Then my tuner worked with my older bikes again.

So apparently you can switch any PV full service tuner back & forth between a J1850/CanBus tuner and '21+ tuner, then you just need the appropriate cables use it on the appropriate ECM...

I believe the actual tuners are the same, there are just three different cables (J1850, CanBus, & '21+) and 2 different firmware updates (J1850 with CanBus firmware and '21+ firmware).....

That is correct, the hardware is the same between 2021+ and 2020-. The difference is in FW/Tune Database and the cable itself, that's all, so as long as you swap the loaded files correctly and use the proper cable, it's really malleable.
However, I don't think there will be any combination of cables and FW/Tune Database for PV2* that will ever work with the newer Harley ECM ('23+, whatever it's called). This will be PV3 and PV4 only AFAIK.

Seems like the architecture of the ECM itself would be different and the data structure could not be addressed properly,

Maybe that would apply to the 2023.5 and later.

I could easily be wrong.
