Repair or Replace?
My dilemma is on my 2010 Tri-Glide is the HK radio/cd/cb . The CD player constantly skips....which from what I have been reading here on this forum, is a common problem. I stopped at the dealer, his fix was to send it away to the HK company for repair (bike is off warranty) It would take at least 2-3 weeks, and somewhere around $350 (or more) to fix. I also learned from the dealer that HK is no longer affiliated with Harley Davidson Mo.Co.
I had been thinking about upgrading the speakers and installing a amp, till this problem arose, now I'm thinking of pulling the HK system out, and going with a completely new system. I had been considering the HOGTUNES BIG ULTRA AMP & SPEAKER KIT for around $550 plus the Mo Co's fix of $350 which puts me at $900, PLUS the install costs.....$1000 for a old but good sounding system, or start with a completely new system? Not that I can throw around $1000 here or there, but I would like the cd system to work. The other half, (who I might add sits in the rear most of the time) and could care less.....says she cant hear it and would rather listen to the radio instead.
Any ideas?

If you want keep CB function then you'd need to fix HK radio. IronCross Audio comes highly recommended for $250 flat fee. If go that route for extra fee they'll add RCA preouts and you could add a aftermarket amp & speakers. If CB isn't important then I'd recommend looking at Biketronics packages.
