Anyone seen or heard of these newer Kappa speakers? I was thinking about upgrading my MM651 to these. Maybe there is a post about these, but I couldn't find it.

Hey Gannicus. I too was thinking about running the 62.9's amped in my SG fairing. The specs are identical compared to the 62.11s. Only diff I see on the 62.9 is the external crossover, MMD metal tweeter, they are slightly taller and the price is $100 cheaper. Any reason that you know of that make the .11's better? Thanks.

The biggest difference (besides the aformentioned crossover) is the fact that the 62.9i's aren't 2 ohm stable. Which is really only an issue if you are running a stock HU or an amp that is specifically meant for 2ohm applications (usually something like a hogtunes)
I have the 62.9i and the matching 6x9. They sound great behind a Soundstream PN4.520D. Just gotta make sure you setup the gain correctly on the amp.

What do you have your gain set at? I jumped mine way up, for no good reason. Now I have to pull the cap and adjust again. LOL
