Default what to do...

I have the Rf300.2 with sony mex-5000bt and t165s speakers with the tweeter in the gauge holes....

over winter i picked up a set lowers and cvo speaker pods they are out to paint yet, i picked up set 7.1 pro and 6.5 bare from the BT group buy so here is wher I need some help....what amp??4180 or the 2180? I HOPE to add lids next winter and tour pack speakers but that is just a WISH for now.....so with that said is the 2180 going be the amp for the 7.1 and 6.5? they are wired in parallel? or does one run the 4180 and all 4 chan with the 4 speaker set up? i believe you need to run parallel to have the option of removing the lowers?

I'm wrestling with a similar dilema right now. The 2180 is enough in parrallel for the fairing and lowers. Looking at pics of the 2180 the inputs are already set-up for parrallel connections (guessing it's a popular set-up). If you plan on adding 4 more speakers in the future you'll need another amp or a 4 channel 4180 (ran in parrallel).

so the 4180 is not needed till I add rear speakers? or if your not removing the lowers then 4180 not in parallel?

friend has the 4180 and 7.1 in front then set 7.1 in tour pack and that set up rocks but I'm not sure how thats wired??

the weather turning here so spring coming faster than I thought time to get back to upgrades

I say you call Bill and discuss your options. From my understanding the BT amps are 180w per channel at 4ohms (some test here were around 165w - that's pretty damn awesome!). So the 2180 provides two speakers at 4ohm 165w. Now at 2ohms one test came out to 330w per channel, if you run in 4ohm speakers in parrallel you get 330w cut in half to each speaker leaving you at the 165w mark! So if those numbers are correct you can get the same w's to 4 speakers using a 2180 or 4180.

BUT to power more than 4 speakers you'll need/want a 4180 or another amp.

Like I said. I'd call Bill confirm those numbers and see what he recommends.

Pick it for the 4180...I did and never looked back. Awesome little amp...Sounds crips, clear and loud. Run it as a 4 channel setup and enjoy. Good luck and congrats,

this I understand....but question is does the speakers run in parallel on 2 of the channel? I have lowers and upper faring speakers
or do you run all 4 speakers with each on its own channel? I will be talking to bill but holding off till I'm ready to buy. i think some run parallel so they can remove the lowers but I am not to concerned about that looking for the best set up with what I have to work with..
