Default Biketronics Upgrades -- And I'm done! (Vid Added)

Fellas....it was a winding road to get to where I can say -- Man does this sound awesome! Sharing with you guys my upgrades and now that I installed a BT set-up I can say I'm done (eehhh maybe some lids down the road). Started with:

1. Fosgate PBR300X2 + Kappa's and OEM HU. This was great for the price, but on the HWY I wanted it a little louder without distorting. So I upgraded my HU to a Sony DSX210. Ok, now this made a difference....but still at max volumes the speakers would distort some and I thought the Kappa's just weren't all that great. I was wrong. Instead:

2. RZ42000D+Kappas+Tweeters+Sony. Ok, now we're talking. This was fantastic and loud. Not much bass, so I decided to slap a set of Pioneer 6X9's facing the rear wheel in the bags. I couldn't hear the bass on the hwy but around town and parked it would thump!! BUT my amp was cutting out. So I changed amps:

3. PPI900.4 (in the saddlebag)+Kappas+6X9+Tweeters+Sony. This was like a new bike. The PPI had tons of power behind it and the Kappas could take every bit of power tossed at them. They were different speakers than when used with the PBR. I'd say you could crank the Kappas louder than 7.1's but it gets to a very bright and harsh sound. Not really pleasant after a long ride....but yes, very loud. The 7.1's provide a fuller sound MUCH better lows. So now fast forward, BT had the group sale...and I still wanted this thing to be LOUDER so now we're working with:

4. BT4180, 7.1's, Titan II in the Lowers, Pioneer 6X9 in the bags and Sony HU. And there's already a post that says - WOW! Man this is so clear and loud!! I gotta hand it to Bill --- the guy provides excellent customer service and outstanding products. I'm so thrilled, that I changed my signature on here. I couldn't be happier. I will add all of the above set-ups were really good, and cost effective, but the BT stuff really is worth it. The amps come with install kits, they send you prefabbed wires to wire your speakers in parallel. It's just done right and sounds how you thought your bike should sound with a badazz set up (...so don't spend your money on Boom II). I'll try to emulate TGrisko's vid tomorrow of the bike jamming while I walk a block away so you guys can hear it. For now here are some pics. Lowers w/ Focal grills. Had to rig them to work, but will be getting some CVO grills soon. Signature Series, Made in the USA on the bottom of the 4180. Nice Touch!

Bill thanks again brother.

my focus skill suck....but you will notice it's 85 degrees in Miami today. Time to ride!

I have to agree. I went through a couple set ups before I finally went to biketronics. I'm running the 4180 with the 7.1 in the fairing and 7.1 pods and Sony head unit.
Absolutely love the way it sounds and how full it is.
Also, biketronics is amazing with customer service and stands behind their warranty. I had a faulty speaker in my kit. Kept cutting out and finally went out completely. Thanks to other members here (Gannicus) I was able to figure out that it was the speaker and not in my wiring like I thought. When I called to tell the guys about the issue, they sent me a new speaker free of charge and it was at my house in a couple days.
Excellent sound systems and excellent customer service from this company. I will be sending everyone I know to them from now on.

Sorry if I hijacked the thread. I'm just another very satisfied biketronics customer.

No hijack here man. That's the point of this thread!! I was chatting with another member and I know we discuss here the new Arc 600.4, and the Fosgate T400AD, and Focal K series speakers and I told him "you know there might be a better set-up out there, but the product BT provides is fantastic but the customer service is so freaking great that even if there was I'd go back to Bill each time".

ACC ---- I don't want to speak for BT so don't quote me. But I believe the plan is to have another group buy in the future. Perhaps a spring sale.

I have a question. Do you think I could get a better sound with all BT with the stock HU? I don't want to change because of my iron cross ipod interface. I really like how it works for me. Can't find an aftermarket HU that will do what I want.

I'm presently running PBR300x2 and MM651s. It sounds ok.

If the head unit is going to be the deal breaker then I'll have to stick with what I have for now.

Thanks for any input. Sorry if I took it off topic a little.

That would be great news. Hopefully I'll have a chance to hear there system somewhere between now and then. I REALLY hope they come out with a 4 channel package for those of us with Limited's. I'm sure they could put together something now, but I haven't had a chance to call them yet. Heck, I'm still waiting to get my bike back from the dealer

Murph I think you’d see a noticeable difference with a different amp. There’s guys down here running the stock HU with some great sounding set ups. At a minimum I’d get the 7.1’s and consider the 2180 or the CV B2. If another group buy comes along at the price is right....I’d say go full BT. Lifetime warranty and its a proven set-up.

Gann ----- brother, Eastern has vivid black painted Hogtunes lids on eBay right now. I mean not that I was looking or anything! ha.
