Well after seeing this thread... I am going to go another route. What non Class D amps would you suggest. I am sending back all the biketronics equipment, speakers included. I'll hang onto the kickers, but what amp\speakers would you suggest? Maybe 3rd time will be a charm...
Hey Gannicus... I hear ya on your reply on that other post. The thing is, I need to find a bit of a compromise. I said from the get go that I listen to FM 90% of the time. I have had the Biketronics system in my bike now for almost a month. I have become very frustrated with not being able to listen to any of those stations. I completely understand that another system will not have the quality of sound coming from the Class D amp, but the Class D amp isn't doing me any good when I can't listen to what I want. So either I do not do a system upgrade or I do a system upgrade that gives me a compromise of some better sound but retains my FM.
Of all the different systems you have installed that would NOT effect FM. Non Class D, which would you suggest? John at J&M seems to be very confident on selling me a system I would be completely happy with...??

Your best option is to run Two Rockford fosgate PBR300X2's with the POLK MM651's (Purchased from an authorized dealer) in the fairing and the Infinity 693.9i 6x9's in the lids. Now I know guys are going to tell you about all the problems the Polks have had in recent years (Including myself) But recently I have installed several sets of the newer polks without issue. The X2 has what they call Boosted Rail technology and is not class D. But the amp performs much better with two ohms speakers than four.

Cool. I will look into this when I get my BT system return\refund from Bill. I just can't justify a $700 amp\speakers that do not allow me to listen to what what I do 90% of the time.... I know you probably think I'm nutz... :-)

By all means if you feel JM john is the way to go check him out. But his stuff is very expensive and IMO you do not get what you pay for. I spent about 2 grand with JM John a few years ago and sold that system within three weeks. But that's just me. I don't keep any system very long. Aside from that his stuff is probably better now than when I bought it. I'm sure he's made some improvements to keep up with the competition. That said the polk/infinity/X2 system I suggested is going to sound 10X better for less money,

I will check out the polk.. Any progress in upgrading a '14 or newer system? I was looking at one yesterday
Just keep in mind that I also lost a good bit of FM with the RF 300 setup, as did one other poster here. It's not a sure bet.
One sort of work around is to use I Heart Radio and bluetooth to the HU. Most of the common FM stations here are on it. The sound at least in my case is not quite as good, and you'd have to get a handlebar mount for your phone, but it can work. (as long as your phone can get a signal)

Good luck.
Hey good suggestion. I can at least give that a try now before I do anything else. Thx I have FM signal loss in my Tahoe also with an amp\speakers I put in it. Non Class D..! I don't think there is any real solution...

WOW . . We live and learn everyday. I'm beginning to think none of these amps are a sure bet.
