A buddy of mine installed a Kenwood HU, BT 2180, BT 7.1, and some aftermarket tweeters, I don't remember the model head unit or the tweeters. The tweeters are connected to the HU.
Question... When he has the ignition switch in the accessory or run position everything works fine. But, if he switches from accessory to run directly, the amp shuts off and just the tweeters are on. If he then switches to off, and then to run everything comes back on. Not a big deal, how often do you really go from accessory to run but just wondering why this is happening. Possibly because the amp is sensing a slight cut out in power and is shutting down? Anyone else see this happen? Bike is a 12 SG.
Where does he have the amp enable wire hooked up to? On my 4180 I used the included cable to connect it to the 12V line on my cigarette adapter. My 4180 definitely does not behave in that fashion. Of course double-check all your power wires as well make sure the connections are tight and secure.
I have the ken wood HU and 4180. If I go from run to accessory or vice versa the HU will go into stby for a moment but comes right back. Never lost the amp switching. Maybe a setting on the HU???
