Just installed Sony DSX-M50BT head unit, JBL GTO628 speakers, Soundstream PN4.320D amp along with Scosche HDSWC1 interface. Turn the ignition and no power at all on amp and head unit.
Neither the amp nor the headunit are powering on? Start with the basics, if you haven't already, and check all the fuses and all of your connections. Make sure nothing is blown, loose, accidentally disconnected, or cross wired. Once all that is confirmed we can move forward. Also, if you have a meter, double check and make sure power is reaching the amp and HU.
I wouldn't classify myself as a guru either, but I'm happy to help. Are you using a harness or did you wire the radio yourself? Have you used a test light or meter to see if you have power to the stereo?
Since you have an aftermarket head unit, the amp should be wired to the turn-on lead of the radio....it's probably a blue wire. If that isn't turning on, your amp likely won't turn on. It's probably something simple like a misplaced wire or a fuse.

I double checked (triple actually) and all connection is good. 10ga power wire is good as well as 10 ga ground wire (straight from amp to the battery). Fuses good and no loose connections.

I wired the blue/white from the back of the head unit to the "rem" of the amp.

The amp issue is likely related to your head unit not powering on. How did you wire the head unit? It will likely have two power leads. The yellow from the radio need constant power....regardless of the ignition being on or off. The red wire should be wired to an accessory lead. I think a lot of guys use the 12 volt outlet (cigarette plug) on the fairing.
