I want to install the stock base model head unit found on the new 14'-15' models into an after market batwing fairing on a non touring model bike. Is this possible? If so, what will it take to get it all powered up? If not, can you explain why? Does anyone have a wiring diagram they can post up here for the way the radio is wired, this might help me answer some questions also.
I know, there are peps wondering why not go after market, I like the options the radio offers and I got one dirt cheap, so I figured if it's possible, why not.....but that just me.

I know some of yhe guys here we consider experts are kind of shying away from the 14 - 15 stuff because it does something a little weird-differnt. One of them will chime in and explain better. Good luck and PLEASE if you get it to work, start a new thread explaining what was needed to be successful.

Most certianlly will if I am able to get thi done. I have gained a ton of knowledge from this forum and always give back as much as I can.
That's not very helpful, but thanks for the enlightenment anyways.
It was just as helpful as the other guy, he didn't give u an answer either lol..u asked if it could be done, yes it can be done if u have/do the other things I listed
blueangle73 - your biggest obstacle is going to be CANBUS. These new headunits are not your typical car stereo type installs.
Can it be done, yes. Is it worth it, IMO hell no. My suggestion would be to get you a good double-din headunit with built in NAV such as Kenwood, Clarion, Pioneer, and be done with it.
If you could get the entire harness from the bike then you could get it to work once you sorted out the wires you don't need. Very time consuming I'll bet. I wouldn't touch it unless I also got said harness for dirt cheap
