it's kuryakyn.. I'm sure it will find a way to rust..
Absolutely Nutz! It doesn't rust but the chrome quality is very poor on that kit and after a couple seasons in the midwest the thing looks like chit. No where near the quality of the V-Twin Kit.
Does the v-twin unit fit with anyone else's install kit or only theirs? Checking the website I get the impression it only works with their install kit, has anyone tried it with a BT install kit? It looks like a heck of a unit, if it would fit with my BT-1005 I'd probably give it a shot.
Not sure where you are exactly in upstate ny but if you want to PM me, I have the Vtwin one you could test fit......
Just want to update this thread to help the next guy out. I ordered the sosche splash guard for my road glide. First lesson is never look at the pictures associated with the product and think it will work
I should have read further because it goes on to say it only works with electra glide models. I found this out after I tried to install it, there were not directions so basically I opened the package and pushed the cover on the radio which caused my top part of the radio to depress further in the fairing (I am gonna have to remove the fairing to fix this, you can see this in my third pic)
I got this the day I was leaving for my 5 day bike trip and it was raining. I had to think fast on how I was going to make this work, I was leaving to meet up with everyone in 30 mintues. I ended up grinding two of the plastic corners down to have it fit flat in the inner fairing where the radio sits. Next I installed a few pieces of velcro. While I did a fast job on the velcro I must say it preformed well. It is not water tight but protected it enough to be effective and there is no chance it will blow off driving down the road. This splash guard helped big time when the bike was parked when it rained. Here are a few pics.
