Anyone have any experience with the Kicker 11KS65? The Kicker 40CS674 comes up as well when I search for 6.5" but it says it's 6.75", will it fit in a 5.25' to 6.5" adapter?
I have some temporarily in my fairing right now. Same reason as you, they were the only thing available locally when I really needed a set after I blew my last set of speakers out in the middle of nowhere during a ride over the summer. They are hooked up to my RF PBR300x2. They are leaving my fairing as soon as I decided on what's going in there next. Just too many better choices out there.
The KS series are better construction quality than the CS series, but don't sound much better to my ear. Muddy bass, cant handle a whole lot of power. They have good sensitivity if you are trying to get by with a smaller amp and play your music at moderate volumes.
If you're trying to shop the big box stores locally, I would buy the Infinity Kappa over just about anything else they're going to have. Polks have better sound quality than the Kicker, but I've blown 2 sets of Polks and am not trying a 3rd. Rockford Fosgate Punch series has worked okay for me in the past, but you won't get any bass out of them (they even have a passive filter built into them) and not a ton of power handling, although sound quality is decent.
