Default Finally test rode my setup - B2, Kappas, BT Line Leveler

and I like it!

was waiting on bunch of stuff from the powder coater, one of which was a D&D Fat Cat with performance baffle and it's LOUD!

80 on the highway and I could hear even at 75% volume. Set the gains with a DMM @ 22.1 volts

"Enter the Sandman" and I could hear the intro perfectly even with the pipe barking as I shifted from 5th to 6th and back down to 5th. Probably could get by without changing anything but I dunno... I think I might want more power

Pretty much same setup here. Guess that the BT355 is a good line out converter?

Did you use HPF or Full? When setting the gains, what volume level did you use on the HU?

I used HPF and estimating around 80Hz based on TPI 440.
My gains are; HU volume 12 = 17.32 / HU volume 13 = 22.36
Low level input using Metra Line Out Converter

I used a 1khz test tone from the JL Audio website

maxxed my volume then dropped it by 4 bars (stock 6.5 boom HU)

set the switch to FULL (was recommended to me to use FULL in another thread)

plugged in the harness (disconnect speakers) and connected the DMM

figured my volts (V = √PxR) :: I got 22.36

ran the test tone a couple times measuring and adjusting gain

settled for 22.1 volts at 13 bars on the stock HU

I didn't do anything with the BT Line Leveler other than install it, left all the settings on it stock

it just blows my mind how good this is over stock ESPECIALLY with the D&D being as loud as it is (it's ear splitting loud, the D&D that is )

I can only imagine how much better it's going to be... I think next will be lowers and some more speakers and maybe an amp upgrade. Then again, I've been eyeing those Moto 602's...

Is there a cure for this addiction? The first thing I do in the am is check THIS forum and see the audio posts then the classifieds to see if any of you are selling audio stuff

You guys are a bad influence!

The BT355 for 2014+ bikes is much more than just a line out converter. Bill form Biketronics explains how it works in this sticky thread at the top of the forum.

Running a stock head unit
Both treble and bass are in the middle
AVC OFF
Amp set at FULL PASS

when you setting volume at 13 DON'T go pass that as 14 will jump about 3 or 4 volts and if the AVC is on can you say BOOM.
Just ask me how I know. Just a little word to the wise.
Enjoy your new tunes

I've got a BT355 line out converter from Biketronics on the way. I'm hoping it is worth the money.

Will reset everything once it arrives and I get it installed. And yes, once you get up to the top range of the volume control on the stock head unit, it makes huge voltage jumps between 11, 12, 13, 14 etc. when hooked up to an aftermarket amp.
