Ok, please forgive me, but does anyone have a pic of how this is wired?
When I get the BT2180 and a HU for my 08 SG I would like to give this a try, if it is even possible with the BT amp. I just don't understand the wiring.
Not sure the 2180 will accept the additional voltage from HL inputs.
In theory you could cut an RCA cable and splice your HU speaker wires to it and then plug in the RCA's to the amp, but with the additional voltage from the HL inputs you need to lower the gains to match the increase in input. Don't think that's gonna fly with the 2180.

This kind of goes along with what I was asking about on the digital loc. It comes with a high level input harness to the loc but has a 5th wire labeled as comm that I was trying to figure out where to connect it. It does have rca inputs as well which leads me to another question. Does anyone know what type of connecter bt uses with the breakout harness? I was thinking of making a rca connection from the harness to the digital loc to try it out.
I just tested HL and LL on a pair of Arc Moto 602's a customer brought in that had no amp hooked installed.
We put in a T400x4ad running from a KMR Kenwood.
LL input did not clip in at max volume 35 out of 35.
Gain clipped out at 70%
Sound was warm and the highs were not that bright but mid bass sounded great bCustomer and I were discussing adding horns at that point bc he wanted more highs.
Switched to HL input and clipped in at 26 out of 35 on the volume.
Gain clipped at just over 45%
The mid bass was more pronounced but the Highs woke up!! Running HL we decided to not install horns saving him $$.
Overall....HP produced better highs and less stress on the amp. 5 people in the shop all agreed with this. Installing DD 6x9's in the lids next.

Mark, did you just use the HL from the hu? Sounds like you hit the sweet spot on that setup.

Was your HL gain setting in HP or AP mode? Did you notice a difference in volume and gain settings for the onset of clipping between the two modes? I ask this because I'm currently using a T400x2AD in AP mode with HL inputs from the stock Harley HK head unit. The sound appears to be fuller in this mode rather than HP (with better bass), but I'm wondering if I might be sacrificing the high end some with this mode rather than HP?

Gains are set with a 1000hz test tone. HP setting won't make a difference.
