Is it that the stand off brackets simple need to be shortened up a bit?

 

I don't know. It could be i guess. I will try to check it out the next time i decide to mess with it. I put some weatherstripping inside last time i had it apart to help seal the edge and i am just going to ride it for a while. Thanks.
