2012 FLHX Ok, so I installed a boom audio stage 1 kit (upgrade speakers & amp)couple years ago. Looking to take the next step.
Heading to destination Daytona in a few weeks. Want to give one of the vendors some work. Please give me some direction, so I'm not completely oversold.
I assume with limited funds, I would concentrate on the fairing, speaker upgrade? Can I add saddlebag speakers and amp on the cheap?
What is the best bang for the buck, at this point?
You can do some damage with a decent budget if you do the install yourself. When you say saddlebag speakers you mean lids or speakers inside the bags. Do you want/mind an amp in your bags? Lastly do you listen to FM radio. Most powerful amps will have some impact on your reception.
I gotcha man...at Daytona you're just gonna get hit up by vendor sales talk. Yes you're speakers are 5.25 but you can use adaptor for a set of 6.5 or even 7 inch speakers.
You didn't answer the rest of the questions. Do you want to keep the crappy stock radio or upgrade that too? You could look at something line this:
Fairing speakers - Biketronics 7.1 - 225.00
Amp - Soundstream PN4.1000D - 150.00
Speakers inside your bags - Infinity 693.11 i - 150.00
Kenwood 562BT - 110.00
Metra Mount Kit - 30
ASCW Hand control Module - 40
Amp wiring kit - 20
Wires, RCA, misc: 20
That's in the 750.00 pall park for an entire sweet set up.
I don't know if Biketronics will be at Daytona, but they are having a sale right now and you can't go wrong with their 2180 amp and 7.1 speakers which would be in your budget. Not to mention a lifetime warranty.
If you wait until Daytona and hear someone bragging about the best system available for a HD and showing off a decibel meter in their display garage run away. Run very far and very fast, do not drink the koolaid.
Yes to Biketronics, absolutely not worth it for J&M.
You posted up top saddlebag speakers. If you had lids you could put them there, or you can put them inside your bags facing your rear wheel kinda like "subs".
Both great suggestions. Looking at info. I sure hope biketronics show up.
Thanks guys.
JT. No need to wait for them to show up bro! You can have your system up and running by the time you roll to Daytona! Haze's suggestion can be done in a day if you have all the components.

With some forum help, I have no doubt. I have done some stuff on my own. Bike is being worked on now (engine stuff). Won't see it for 10days+. And by then I'll be so frantic to go, I wouldn't be able to clear the bugs from the windshield.
Plus, gives back to the vendors. It won't be much. But I hope it helps.
