Don't know if this has been covered before or not. After my new install I have been listening to some "test" songs recently and while one song sounds really good, another sounds like crap. Then it hit me, where did I get these songs from? Well, most, like 95% of my library, was downloaded from one of those free music "sharing" sites years ago. So, I downloaded a couple of the problem songs direct from iTunes and what do ya know, they sound WAY better! Great, now what's that going to cost me? Lol.

I've been using Spotify for a while now. You can download the songs to your App for offline listening, or stream it. In the settings you can pick your streaming AND download quality. Everything from 96kbps to 256kbps. It's like $10/month unlimited. Highly recommend.
I recently did the 3 month free trial of Apple Music. I went for the family plan so you get 5 or 6 people that can use it ($14.99 a month after trial). You can listen to any song in their library. I have probably downloaded 30 albums or more and if you don't want to tie up your hard drive they can play from the apple cloud (data is used if you're not on wifi) so I generally download to the phone if I'm going on the road and move them back to the cloud when I'm done. Happy so far
I created some serious playlists on Spotify. But got tired of paying the $10.00, so I cancelled my membership. But now I'm pissed with myself.
On Spotify, you don't own the music. My playlists are still there but with the free version, there's tons of commercials, I can't save for offline use, etc. etc., etc.,
I think I'm going to reactivate and pay for the membership again. There's no way to beat the system.
I've been experimenting with an app called Mixer Box 3. I have unlimited data so there's no issue there. The majority of the songs I've downloaded so far sound extremely good. I guess the only pitfall I see with it is no off-line play.

Is that with Prime? I'm a prime member but didn't know you could download to removable device, thought you had to stream.
You have to buy the songs. After you buy them it adds them to your library then you can download them to your PC/Laptop or, I assume, mobile device. I do my browsing and buying from my laptop so not sure how it works with a phone.
