Well guess what. I ran the ground back to the battery, didn't fix anything. Just been riding it with the amp cutting out. Figured those guys on the forum don't know squat. Sunday, sound quit altogether. Took it apart, found a bad splice in the hot wire between the battery and the amp had completely broken. Figured the connection was intermittent up to the point of failure. Maybe you guys do know what you're talking about sometimes...

Good to see you found the problem. And one of the reasons I solder all + & - connections.
The amp runs too hot to be stuck in a fairing. What else do you need to know. Try reading the lit from the manufacturer. It's written at an 8th grade level.
Every time someone brings up the heat issue with this amp we hear the same thing....it doesn't run hot. Why does this amp have cutting out issues and heat issues posted all over the Internet, as compared to complaints about other amps? .
Princess, looks like it had nothing to do with heat.

Holy **** Ratt!! I thought we solved this issue way back on post #2 and #5. lol
Where did all this heat stuff come from? Every now and then you'll find a X2 that will get hotter than normal running at 2 ohms. But for the most part those amps don't get hot. Now the older X4 was a different story. They got hot as hell. But the newer models have been fixed.
Tell me it isn't so! Someone is finally admitting that the RBR in fact does run extremely hot.
This amp is way too hot to be in a fairing...period. But, one person a ways back said it doesn't run hot and all the sheep followed.
Bottom line is this amp runs way way way hot!
Well if it's running hot I removed the top off mine & bought 4 mini computer fans & made a bracelet so they blow into the amp works great never had any issues
