Amp cutting out

Amp cutting out
Moved my Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 from my old bike to my new one. Music is cutting out after riding about 20 minutes. Seems like amp may be overheating - it's worse when the volume is cranked up. I turned the gain down on the amp, which helped, but it still cuts out when I turn up the volume. How do I diagnose this issue?

Same as the old bike, 10 gauge hot wire direct to battery with inline fuse, grounded to frame under front tank mounting bolt. I'll double check those connections tonight, pretty sure they're good, but never hurts to check. Bike is a '16 Street Glide, with 2 Kappa speakers in the fairing (2 ohm). Thanks for all the replies.

bring that ground back to the battery. I am pretty sure they have a bulletin on the rockford website saying so.

I installed one of these for a guy over the weekend. Grounded at battery and had no issues with it cutting out. The amp did seem to get extremely hot though. I contributed it to the crappy J&M speakers he was using LOL!!!!
