I've been looking for an amp mounting bracket for a ST4.1000D that will work in a 2016 Road Glide. What mounts have you guys been using for this amp?
Also, does anybody have the Molex connector part numbers for the speaker connectors in the front and the rear speaker interface under the seat? Those v-twin interface kits are like $100 for $14 worth of connectors.
I'm running Kappas. Not looking for anything to blow the doors off. I'm on a budget or the old lady will have my nuts! I was just looking to get a little kick out of the kappas and not break the bank. I am planning on getting a better amp next year but want something to run this year until then. At $97 (Amazon) I thought it was a great deal. Rated at 125Wx4@2ohm. If I get 75W I'd be happy for now.
It's a bit tough to get that amp in there, but if your handy and you can install it....you won't need another amp with those speakers. The only way to get it to fit is by removing the tabs above the headlamp that hold the connectors. There's a post on here somewhere with it.
Not trying to discourage you, but have you also thought thru your headunit requiring a flash to install an amp or if not using a line leveler from biketronics?
I'd like to get the line levelers but at $75 a piece it has me thinking about the flash. I also was looking at Cyclesounds "magic box" levelers. A little cheaper. The BTs would set me better for a future upgrade if necessary. There is a lot of information about doing the flash yourself. Might look into that some more. The next biggest expense is those cables from v-twin audio. That is why I was hoping someone had the connector information so I could build my own ordering the connectors from DigiKey.
If it were me, I wouldn't use the connectors at all. I would run new speaker wire to the front speakers and splice the rear speaker wires to the amp, or just run new speaker wires to the back. A roll of wire is 10 bucks and since I'm using an amp I don't need any of the stock wiring from the HU. That would save you some money for better components that will give you better sound than a connector would.
Also, if you are tight for cash and only do one BT line leveler you can always use some RCA y cables to run front and rear on the amp...you just won't have the ability to fade.
