Default Breaking in your speakers

I have never heard of breaking in new speakers but my Focal KRC'c tell you to in the instructions. I don't really listen to my system cranked up pushing its limits so didn't think I really needed to do anything special. I must say that they do sound better after some hours of highway cruising are on them. They get better sounding every time o go for a ride it seems. Do any of you notice that your speakers get better with age up to a point? I'm going to try some new adjustments now that they have a couple hundred songs on them now.

Maybe it's just my ears getting better trained and I'm listening better.

I broke in my JBL 6x9 by building a quick box and hooking up to my garage amp. ran it 24 hours.
it will take somewhere between 12-24 hours to get them fully broken in, but that's me "guessing"

I would think both. Your ears/brain are becoming accustomed to your new speakers and your new speakers will start to loosen up and like anything age over time.

What procedure does the Focal instructions recommend ?

The brain is a strange and wonderful thing:

Focal recommends "two weeks" lol. So if I install them and don't use the speakers guess they are good to go, lol. I kinda computed about 200 songs played on mine since new.

Well that's pretty specific. They don't specify volume levels, frequency ranges, duration, etc. ?

Sorry, they say not to exceed 1/2(I think) volume for two weeks.

5-10 min moderate volume will typically break in the spider. I just give them that small time period and out the pedal to the metal.

^ same here. I'll let it play in my garage for a little bit at moderate volumes and then let it rip the next time I ride. They do normally sound better (warmer) after about a week or so of use.
