M currently running the bt 7.1 non pros and hertz Mille 6x9 with pn 4.1000. I also just got a set of the Mille 6..5's but I'm thinking of getting the focal 165 krc
My question is are the Es 165k the replacement or the krc's

I actually don't want the ec165 k was just wondering if they replaced the krc's. I'm looking for a warmer less harsh sound then the hertz or bt's and gann suggested the krc with my set up

Those are the krc replacement. Both are a poor choice with that amp. The 2 ohm load with the poor sound quality of that amp defeats the purpose of using them. The Hertz shouldn't be harsh if set up correctly.

Yes, the Focal EC165K Elite K2 replaces the 165KRC.
I wouldn't expect a lot out of those. May be a downgrade from the mille. I looked into the 4 ohm component version at first and was told I would be very disappointed. As discussed in another thread. Go outside the box and try them. If they are satisfying then hell yeah. Honestly though I think you need to scale up the focal ladder for what you are after. The downside is the 2 ohm territory. Good for quality amp but not so much for the pn1000d. You want a good front stage I got some very high end component Hertz I may sell brand new in box .
Bro, I'm running various Focal to include the KRC and buying more Focal. I think Slye is referring to your amp being a bad combo with the speaks u mentioned but u might want to clarify.

WhatbI am trying to say is unless the krx they won't outshine what he already has. Most the focal installers I have spoken with in regards stay krx, kx line. The rest I am told will be barely audible at 80. The downside is the pn1000d inst a good match IMO to that line of speakers. Again you can go out on a limb with the lower focal elite line but feedback from the focal gurus say stay away.

Agree, if there is no budget. But if u throw down 300 buck KRCs and 300 buck Millie 165s, these speaks do not compare. Gave my Millies away. Good speaks, but very different animals.
