I'm looking to upgrade the fairing speakers on my 1988 Ultra. I know that I'm limited on room and can only fit 4" speakers. Does anyone have a speaker and/or amp combo recommendation? I don't mind spending money on good products.
Gonna have to pull the fairing and measure CS. Gotta know the hole size. I'm thinking you can go with 6.5 speakers if you can get 5.25 to 6.5 adapters to fit the opening.
I've had the fairing off. The 4" speakers that are in there barley fit. There's a couple supports that are on each side of the speakers. I'm not saying it can't be done but it doesn't look like there's room for a bigger speakers even if you removed the supports.
I put the Biketronic 4" Titans in mine. Tight fit too as you can see by the pic. Work well with an upgraded HU. Didn't try em with the HK stocker you have in there still. I bought their full package for the older glides. Not much info to be had here for our older style fairings. I am dealing with adding rear pods and an amp at the moment. Took me a long time just to find pods that will work with the passenger grab rails.

DeputyLoud....I know all about the tight fit for the speakers. I replaces the blown stock speakers with a cheap set from Best Buy. I plan on replacing the stock HU and installing a amp. How do you like the Fosgate amp? Was leaning toward that amp setup. I'll take a look at the Biketronic stuff.

Not really done with the install yet. Basically taking care of a long laundry list while I had the tank off, all while also upgrading the stereo, Again! I still have to mount the rear pods and speakers then tune. But to be honest I have a CV-B54 amp on the way that will most likely replace the RF. Simply heard better things about it. Except for the antenna interference. Which I also may have a solution to try if needed. But I will be tuning this one since it is already wired up and ready to start with. Lost my High Level Input voltage or something from the Kenwood cuz the amp stopped turning on with those alone. Had to wire in the remote lead which is fine, that works too. Guess I will know more within a week or so. Really wanna get er done.
