Wonderful....any affordable amps that won't kill it? Good news is the Kickers I ordered Tuesday are in the rear pods, sound great!! It's been at least 25 years since I ordered from Crutchfield, glad to see they still have great service.
Which would be better, it looks like I may be able to get a Fosgate PBR 300.4 for $100 used, or the power acoustik new?
Honestly I wouldn't use the PBR 300.4 if someone gave it to me. There's too many other avenues to listen to music than to skimp on the amp because of FM interference.

As Bates said. You don't want the Rockford X4. Not a good amp. I'm surprised they are still making that thing. I gave mine away years ago and the guy I gave em to sold em to another poor soul. . lol The PA is going to be the better amp but if you're looking for good FM reception it's not gonna happen with the PA. Anymore you have to PAY for FM reception with a high dollar amp. Most of the time you lose it with the cheaper class D amps. It's a crapshoot. Some guys install em and never miss a station. We've never been able to figure it out. Amps that are good with FM are:
1. Biketronics BT4180 or 2180
2. Rockford Fosgate PBR X2 or X4
3. Rockford Fostgate TM4004Xad
4. Arc Moto 600.4
5. Arc KS 125.2 or 4 mini.
I'm still not sure what happened after I came in here asking about a Boom system, But my speakers are in Kicker KSC 6.5 in the rear and Hog Tunes 5.25 in the front. Power Acoustik RZ$.2000 is in the mail and I have a gains question. Using the wattage from the bench test sticky and the setting gains sticky, I would appreciate someone double checking my math prior to setting the gain by DMM.
Front 140 w x2 ==280 divided by 2 ohms = 140, square root of 140 = 11.83 v
Rear 91w x 2 =182 divided by 4 ohms = 46, square root of 46=6.78v
So I should be looking for 11.83 in the front and 6.78 in the rear, correct?
Thanks again for all of the advice

If you can squeeze a few more bucks out for some front speakers and adapters your sound system would be complete! The hog tune 5.25 speakers won't last very long with that amp. Another set of KSC Kickers would be perfect. I get the math. Trust me. But set the gains on the PA just past the 12:00 o'clock setting and run your crossovers on FP on that amp. Set that amp up many times. Forget the math. It will just make you crazy when it doesn't sound like it should. Your speaker adapters can be had here:
Changing out the fronts was the plan since I decided to not go with Boom. I had the Hog Tunes sitting on the shelf so I decided to Upgrade Rear speakers, hog tunes in the front, add an amp later, circle back around to the front speakers. Thanks for the link, will that allow me to drop the Kicker's straight in the fairing?
Best buy has the 6.5's on sale for 79.99 right now.
