I'm looking for a new set of 6x9 and better speakers for my upper fairing. I'm running a Cerwin Vega B2 amp for my 6x9 saddlebag speakers and a Cerwin Vega B4 amp for my upper and lower speakers. I'm looking to spend $300-$500 on each set of speakers. I've heard allot of great things about Hertz speakers and I know Biketronic makes some awesome speakers as well. Which ones would you go with?

this will turn into a great thread. im curious as to the suggestions that will be offered as im sure someday i will be adding lid speakers as well
I believe the best start would be your listening preference of music and what your expectations are. Biketronics makes good speakers but Hertz does as well. With your current amp I would consider efficiency in the equation. The b54 will not quite push a decent Hertz to potential in stereo. So a 2 ohm focal in fairing with a set of hcx165 in lower, then hcx690 or Arc 692 in back.
I have the biketronics 4 channel amp and speakers; 7.1s in fairings and 6.5s in lower fairings,; also running 5x7 in lids, with 6x9 inside bags on my 2014 SGS. Let's just say I am very satisfied. Thinking of getting a second amp, but very pleased as is; oh and their customer service is outstanding.
I personally and this is just me.. but I tend to lean more towards hertz between the two. My ears just like em more. They are very clear and just play all the music I like perfectly. I usually listen to either Rock, metal, blues, country. So just something to think about
I say this with all the love in the world for Biketronics, as I'm a dealer and use everything BUT their speakers in a lot of installs... My opinion there's better to be had for the money. As for recommendations, I always ask what type of music you listen to and what volume. Your price range leaves you wide open for most speakers out there (at my forum member pricing at least).
