DSP Line-Level Shifter (Magic Box) or bt 355 line leveler
I have a 2014 street glide special. After weeks of reading threads I have decided on a RF pbr 300x2 and and Infinity Kappa 62.11i 6.5 speakers. Have a couple questions
1. Which should I use the bt 355 or the magic box?
2. Will the boom grills clear the speakers?
3. Anyone had overheating issues with this amp?
Thanks
1. Guarantee everyone will say use the bt 355.
2. I want to say yes. But if u mount those speakers on the outside of the pods, they WILL get destroyed GUARANTEED.
3. I had that amp and it didnt overheat for me.

1. The BT355 Line Leveler are the way to go.
2. The Kappa's will have to be installed inside the stock speaker pods. You will find some picks of the Kappa's installed in this thread. Below is a video of an install of Focals inside the pods to give you an idea of the process. It looks like the stock grills will work. If you want to go with better grills these are a good choice. The other option is to use the BT speakers brackets.
3. Yes there have been reports of overheating on this amp.
Dont use one, the amp has high level inputs, just connect the speaker wires coming from the head unit to the input on the amp. No flash needed just hook it up.
Set the gain on 5 set filter switch to HP and the freq around 80, have done this on several bikes...it just works.
I have had no overheating issues at all with temps over a 100 here in Texas.
Very curious about this install strategy for the Rushmores that essentially have no EQ capability.
So what would be an example audio set up u have used on one of the several bikes u have accomplished this install technique? Are u using an external EQ?
I wonder how Rockford Fosgate, ARC, Biketronics, J&M, Soundz, Badd Azz, etc missed this install strategy regarding ignoring the flash on the Rushmores, just hooking it all up and rolling down the road.
So what set-ups / amp & speaker combos r u installing this way?
From all the previous threads on the pbr high level is best, BUT, on a rushmore I personally would select a different amp period. No sense running an amp that needs high level to perform and not have the source to do so, unless ran with the soundz flash. The 2 amp 8 speaker like Bunker went to
