Default Amp seems to big for fairing??

I have followed a few threads here and went with the
RZ4-2000D and the Kappa's in front and Polks in the rears..
But it seems I must have the amp in wrong or something, because my fairing barley fit back on, and I still really don't call it "back on" It doesn't have any big openings, but it is also no longer water tight, as you can tell the sides are barely making contact with each other, and I ride in the rain..a lot..
The amp is sitting on top of the stock radio, plastic end guards removed.
Pushed as close to the spedo/tach as possible, with a paint stirrer stick cut to 2inch length and wrapped with very thin but super sticky double-sided tape, for ventilation.. with or without the paint stick it still hits the fairing..
and I moved it all around the fairing looking for a good mount but the top of the radio seemed to be the best.
is there some modification I missed, or should try??
My bike in an 04 Ultra Classic.. and has stock HU..
and now sounds Great!!

Thank you for any help or suggestions..
Chuck

Notch out your gauage bezel retainers. The black part inside inner fairing. Cut below the studs out.

Here's where the problem lies with your pic, you have it hooked up using high level inputs. When using low level inputs you have to be a little more creative because the rca's will hit the fairing brace. Amp will need to be mounted more on a slope to fit.

The pic is only of it setting in place, not hooked up yet but have made bracket to raise the "back" of amp along with some "work" on the brace for rca clearance. It all dry fit good so far, but with me...........

cut these pieces off on both speedo and tach black plastic bezels. this will allow the amp to slide back another 1/2 - 3/4"

I have a.2005 and all the tricks won't work, due to the LARGER HU in 2005 and OLDER Electra glides.
