Looking at the next step and wondering what the difference would be in sound between component speakers and a pro audio set up with mid drivers and horns? I don't really have any shops in my area that have systems like this to see the sound difference.
We have been using DD for the past year and have absolutely no complaints. Just smiling faces when they pull away. I am a Huge Fan of the DD and their quality of sound. Its just plain loud and clear. Now you won't get base with them. But when riding at speeds over 60mph you can still hear them clear. I have loud pipes on my bike and can just barely hear it when my tunes are on.

The DD's get loud and have a real tight punchy mid bass to them but they didn't last more than a few weeks on my bike. I had the VO 6.5's and 8's. They're priced well at 80 bucks a speaker compared to Hertz SPL's but I don't know what the fuss is with these? I didn't like the coaxial 6.5 either. Not bad on a budget but there's quite a few in this range. I think to go PA speakers you need higher end for it to sound good and then it starts getting expensive quick!
Haze, No I haven't been here of a full year yet. But LL has been using the Pro audio for over a year. haha thats why I said "we" not me.
But Haze is right. The DD's are loud and punchy for sure. The price point on them are a big selling point. I have had the DD VO 6.5s in mine and the B3's. Im very happy with mine. Im not looking to put a full setup in my bags.. YET. So they are supplying me with the sound I need for the time being.
