We don't want to have the "passive" vs "active" crossover conversation on this forum boys. Too much info for the average Op who has never taken a fairing off to digest. Now if you guys want to head over to the DIYMobileAudio forum we can beat the hell out of it!!

When installing the gauges make sure you didn't loosen any connection at the amp. What year is bike and what head unit?
2015 sgs. Stock head unit. Once I replugged into the provided plugs to the crossover on the wiring harness for the fairing speakers, that was all I did. Those speakers are ES165KX2. Amp is arc Moto 600.4. Lower speakers are EC165K. I didn't readjust any gains.

I would call peter and get some info. You should need to increase the gains on the rear. Last I remember he puts a sticker over the plate that covers the adjustment. If you are uncomfortable doing so I am sure you can send him the amp and he will set it up correctly. Not sure about the whine. I am with T and leaning towards a loose connection, but again I would check with Peter. Gann that topic has been beat to death ovet on diy mobile audio, but I will gladly pm you my plans.

Agree on all regarding active vs passive.

I don't think that's the issue here. Noise floor, or noise when the volume is all the way down could be connection or ground issue. Try different RCA's, separate your ground from your power, make sure no connection is touching metal, etc. Try isolating the issue, if you unplug one RCA does it go away. If you unplug one speaker does it go away, etc.

This won't help for **** but I checked every connection, I plugged and replugged, ziptied and tucked and for whatever reason I have no whine today. In fact, buttoned everything up and thought it was quiet and didn't realize it till I acknowledged the silence. There is a noise that comes out of the speakers but not a whine. I spoke to Peter last night and he had said;
It is not a ground loop issue. It is an internal amplifier noise because of the class d amplifier. Because of the gain being higher than the parameters of the HD amp, you hear this noise.
I am aware of the issue, but unfortunately no product has been available until this summer when Arc Audio released the NGM which filters the issue with a Class D amplifier specifically.

I use mobile app for this Forum most of the time so I don't see signatures thus my bad for asking what year your sled is.

If it's a Rushmore, did you by chance ask Peter if he knows of anyone that has had any luck with his product that uses a BT Line Leveler? I have tried more than a few amps tweaked to fairly aggressive settings and have never had an issue with this side noise and am using LLs.

Just a thought.
