I would say the best all around speaker I have tried in the fairing is the Hertz MLK. Got them from BAB.
Now there is a catch to that statement. I'm currently not running those as Haze, Gan and myself have been testing the shix out of some other fairing stuff but until that shix has been run thru the ringer, is on the Area 51 list. I have about 20 hours on them and they blow away the MLK and far cheaper. Stand by.
I really hate when you guys do this ****, frustrates the hell out of me waiting to hear what it is then ends up costing me even more money!
so when can we expect an update?
I've been waiting for the updates as well but I can tell you from my own installation of the Area 51 products I was blown away. Price point for speakers alone for fairing (excluding VOB3 horns) and lowers was $260 and they've far exceeded anything I tried. The next step up from that went to a total of $320 and it blew away the first setup. I'll wait and let Haze divulge the components of the Area 51 builds.

Dont get to frustrated
think of all the money these guys have spent to build systems over the last few years, constantly buying and selling speakers and amps
Then they are willing to turn that knowledge over to us on the forums.
Thus saving guys like me and you, a huge headache and a little extra in our pockets
Kudo's to all the guys that make this forum rock, New and Old

I know this is a total newbie question but what do you mean when you say "horns"?

Horns are a stand alone type of tweeter. Normally used in conjunction with Pro Audio speakers but can be added to any system if your needing more highs from your setup.

In cave man speak, it's really is just a different way to deliver sound than a tweeter.
They guys that r using them are in the advanced level of sled audio. Very loud and very clear higher frequency sound that is paired with a woofer/driver as is a tweeter.
On a sled, they r just not easy to mount unless u give up a few small gauges in the fairing, customize a bit, or buy lids that have horn holes already cut into them.
Good damn sound, but a logistical challenge for most. Thus the tweeter is a much more popular option for sled audio.

Above my level of sled audio then for sure. I hope the Area 51 stuff includes choices for us novices that don't want to go quite that far.
