Where did you get the foam speaker covers? How do they effect sound?
They are called FAST Rings. Google that and u can get more info on their purpose and also where to get them. I have a local shop that carries them but have also gotten them at Amazon for about 25 bucks.
It's one of those details we all seem to talk about like good RCAs, Dynamat, speaker wire, etc. Every little bit helps on a sled and my ears tell me that these things warm up the speaks a bit so I use them religiously.

Thanks Tailwind. How do you compare them to the polyfill?
T - What amp mounting plate were you using in that picture with the two NVXs?
It's the J&M Amp Mount. I purchased one from Phat Performance Parts.
It's made of high quality SS and provides a larger flat mounting area. One of the few things JM did right.
By the way, I noticed that you installed the F.A.S.T Rings in way, that it is not necessarily the way that they were intended for an installation in the car.
So, it looks like you just covered the speaker completely with the rings one on top of the other since our scenario is totally different than a car.
What benefit did you noticed the rings made that you went this route?
Do you keep the Fast Rings in place just with the glue that comes with them under the tape or use some other glue?
The glue / tape that comes w them works well until u start changing speakers too damn much. Then a couple of small pieces of double sided tape does the trick.
Tailwind, may be I'm overthinking this, but in the way you have it setup I'm concern with the heat trapped inside those foams and eventually damaging the driver.
I'm going to play with some configurations of the Rings and see what works best for me.
