Getting too many vendor posts that are outside the rules. This is the message you will get if you don't:
It has come to our attention you are using non vendor sections at HDForums.com to sell or promote your products and therefore breaking the Vendor Posting Rules For HDF posted over here. We have moved your thread [name and link to thread] to [either Sponsoring Vendors Section or Vendor For Sale Classifieds Section]
We understand that the rules of HDForums.com may have just been overlooked by you.
Although we greatly appreciated your sponsorship, we do not want the vendors starting any advertising thread in any section other than the vendor section.
Vendors are allowed to post things like DIYs in a model section or tech section but if it doesnt offer useful technical information, it gets moved.
The aim of this policy is to cut back on the spam in tech and model sections, while encouraging vendors to put together quality DIY articles based on their products. A DIY benefits you as a vendor by being allowed to stay in a tech or model section and it benefits the members and the forum as well.
Izzo would you please clarify for me what exactly did that step out of the rules? I think i know the post your referring to in the pm however the original poster was asking for setups in specific price range so i posted a couple options for him with the price....was i wrong because i posted a price? I am honestly asking because i have no clue.
Dear Forum Moderator,
I'm scratching the hell out of my head on this "warning" to vendors/sponsors. The thread u are referring to is a research and development statement by a vendor/sponsor and nothing more. If anything, it is very comforting for us HD Forum members to know that they are running product really damn hard before rolling it out, not to mention showing us up front the product lines in the pipeline so that we too as customers can get out in front of the product specs and industry expert reviews.
This open discussion about product is healthy for the current culture of this forum, so you might reconsider/reevaluate the intent of the policy.
T.
I 'm not sure I would know a forum member from a vendor on here. All I know is this forum has helped more guys like me with little to no audio knowledge, make some beneficial decisions that we could not or would not be able to make with out their input and suggestions. Like I said I do not no who is a sponsor or vendor or just a forum member, but I do know that I have gotten a lot of advice from people like Gan, Haze, Sly, Nutz and the list goes on. I sure hope this gets worked out, because I want a good sounding system, and can't do it with out all the help on this sight. I'm not a vendor so this was not directed at me, and will probably get moved but I wanted to say it.

Just look under the name in the posts my friend and you will see it says sponsor or some "rank" of the member. Easy peasy

Yeah it's kinda tough because if I try a product and I really like it then I'm going to carry it! I may not be advertising an actual sale but I do want to advertise how great this product is. Hoping that's not seen as a sales ad. I think for the most part this forum is not over run by folks pushing sales.
